Fatal Attraction Page 6
She was listening intently.
“So, his plan was to oversee our main production factory in South Africa and keep me updated on any new developments. It was his lab and his people that created this new miracle cure, and due to what I see now are very suspicious circumstances, I never really got involved in the whole thing the way I was supposed to, seeing that it’d be my ass that’d go down if something bad happened. So I signed off on the word of honor of a business agreement with my best friend. My word means everything to me, Adrianna.”
I had no idea it’d be this difficult to tell my story. It all sounded like an elaborate movie plot instead of my life.
“Right after you and I got into that argument and you left, he called and told me something urgent came up, and I needed to get there as soon as possible. Of course, I prepared for my trip immediately, but also wanted some extra information about this whole urgent business that couldn’t wait. The only thing I managed to squeeze out of him was that he couldn’t discuss such delicate matters over the phone and that he’d tell me all about it when I got there. So I arranged for my pilot to ready the jet, but then the strangest thing happened. ”
Adrianna was hanging on my every word. “Just as I was about to leave my apartment, the doorbell rang. I wasn’t expecting anyone and the doorman would not let anyone up without calling to verify first. I opened the door but no one was there. I didn’t see anyone in the hallway but when I looked down, there was an envelope under my foot.”
I pulled out the note and handed it to Adrianna so she could read it.
Erik,
Don’t board that plane, you’ll regret it.
B.
Adrianna looked up at me from the note and I could see she was as confused as I had been. After all, who the hell else knew I was on my way to the plane? “Do you know who ‘B’ is?” Adrianna jumped in.
“I do now, but not at first. I arranged it so that I was seen to board the plane, and ordered my staff back at the office not to bother me because of a terrible headache I was having and then, snuck out in disguise. You can imagine how freaked out I was when I found out on the news that my plane had crashed and that I was presumed dead. So, basically, now I’m in hiding, and the only people I’ve been in contact with are you and Mr. Brown.”
“Mr. Brown?” she asked, curiously.
“My detective. He’s ‘B’, the one who sent me the note saved my life.”
“So, it’s been your partner all along who’s been framing you?” Adrianna concluded.
“I really wish there was another explanation, anything that would clear his name, but so far, I don’t see one. And that’s not the worst thing. Brown told me that I’ve been followed by the FBI these past few weeks. I have no idea how I didn’t realize this myself. Also,” I didn’t know how to tell her this.
“What?” she asked.
“The FBI is following you as well. That’s why I asked you if you were followed. But, I’m sure Brown got those damn dogs off your tail one way or another.”
“Me? But why?” Adrianna seemed concerned, and rightly so.
“Because of me. I shouldn’t have dragged you into this whole mess, Adrianna. I’m so sorry, but I promise you it’ll be OK. We’ll have to stay away from each other for a while, at least while I get this mess sorted out. I need to keep a low profile and let them think I’m dead. You just continue with your life as you normally would. I’m sure this will prove to them you have nothing to do with this whole thing.”
I really regretted getting her involved and I was hoping that she’d be safe if I wasn’t near her. Unfortunately, this would come at a great price to me, but at least she’d be safe, which was all that mattered to me.
“So, in the morning, I need you to get back home and tell your boss that you weren’t sick, but that you actually had a family urgency, and that’s why you rushed out of town, because I’m sure the FBI already knows you’re off work and not at home. We need to give them a good excuse.”
“OK, I’ll do as you say,” Adrianna agreed, without an objection.
She crossed her legs, and in a second, I forgot all about my troubles. All I could do was just imagine all the delights that her skirt was hiding.
Adrianna
The abundance of information Erik revealed in just a few minutes hit me like a ton of bricks. As he was talking, I could imagine his confusion, his anger, his devastation at the betrayal of his business partner. I had to help him any way I could.
When he finished, it seemed that the world started making sense again. All the pieces of his story fit perfectly, and I knew that he was telling the truth.
And now that there were no more secrets and lies between us, we could finally bring this pharma fraud to light and make the people responsible for it, and pay their dues.
Erik was staring intently at me but the look in his eye had changed. Gone was the seriousness and concern. I knew this look and it made my mouth water.
“God Adrianna, you drive me crazy,” his body moved to the floor, so that he was kneeling in front of me. “I can’t control myself around you,” the purr of his voice aroused me as well.
His hands spread my knees, moving under my skirt. In one quick motion, he pulled me so that I was straddling his lap.
I could feel his strong hands massaging the globes of my behind. He kissed me passionately, his tongue buried deeply in my mouth, as he crushed me against him.
I pressed hard against him, wanting him, needing him, grinding my pelvic bone against his throbbing manhood.
“I don’t want you to move a muscle. Stay like this, I’ll be right back,” he suddenly got up, leaving me in kneeling on the floor.
Luckily, he came back quickly and sat in front of me again.
“Close your eyes,” he ordered.
I closed my eyes and tried not to gasp as he inserted an egg-shaped object into my vagina.
“Now, kneel in front me,” he commanded.
As I did so, I found myself facing his hardened manhood.
“As always, I want you to be a good girl and listen to what I tell you. When I finish with you tonight, you’ll be on fire,” he said mischievously.
As if following some innate instinctual desire, my lips went for his cock. I started off slowly, but suddenly, felt a rush of adrenaline hit me and I couldn’t control myself.
“Slowly! Slowly! Build up the rhythm. If you do it as I say, you’ll see what I have for you,” he teased.
As always, I did as he instructed. I started licking him softly, gently, only the tip first. His head fell back in pleasure.
Suddenly, I felt a slight vibration starting inside of me, sending goose bumps all over my body. It felt so naughty, so good.
As I sucked him stronger, harder, the vibrations followed in rhythm that I was setting. It sent ripples of pleasure all the way to my core. He cupped my head and I could hear him releasing sounds of pleasure.
I bobbed my head faster, sucking even harder, hoping he’d get the hint and let that little vibrating miracle do the same, sending me over the edge. We both needed release right here, right now.
“Ah, Adrianna! I’m going come too soon!”
Suddenly, the vibration stopped and his hands gently removed his pride from my mouth.
“I want you to go to that table and bend over,” he pointed at the kitchen table.
Trying not to let the little vibrator slide out, I walked slowly to the table and leaned over, spreading my legs. I could feel my inner thighs shaking in anticipation.
“Mmmmm, beautiful,” he whispered, fingering me, reaching for the little vibrator. “I see my new toy pleased you?” He smiled.
His removed the vibrator and I stood exposed, bent over the table, waiting to be taken. I felt a sharp slap on the bottom and immediately after, his thick cock filled me as he pounded his need into me.
The sweet pain that preceded his entry only served to accentuate the explosion of pleasure I felt once he was inside. His fingers dug into my flesh as he k
ept thrusting, building up to the climax that we were both yearning for.
Then, another slap. The friction felt so good, until finally, I felt my entire body convulsing in an overpowering orgasm. A few seconds later, he followed and our bodies quivered in rhythm.
My face was still pressed against the polished wood, and the coolness felt nice.
“How about we take a nice shower together and get some sleep?” he added, patting me approvingly on the butt.
We enjoyed a hot, relaxing shower, taking turns lathering each other up and rinsing off. We almost forgot about the mountain of problems that waited for us outside the door. After toweling off, we climbed into bed and fell asleep in each other’s arms.
When I woke up the following morning, Erik wasn’t there. On the kitchen table, I found a rose, breakfast, and a note from him:
My sweet Adrianna,
As I mentioned yesterday, it’ll be better if we don’t see each other for a while. I need to sort out this whole messy business first, clear my name and then, I can give you the attention you deserve. Take good care of yourself and know that I’ll be watching over you from a distance. You’ll be hearing from me soon.
Love,
Erik
I felt my heart flutter at the sight of the word “love” but had no time to dwell on it. I needed to get back to the office and pretend that the last 24 hours hadn’t happened.
Luckily, I managed to get to work on time, but as soon as I entered my office, I had a phone call.
“Miss. Barnes? This is Mr. Richmond. Could you please come to my office immediately?”
Shit, I thought. Why is my boss calling?
His tone didn’t sound accommodating, so I decided it’d be best to go straight away and see what he wanted. I guessed they found out I wasn’t really ill yesterday, but luckily, I had my excuse, the one I got from Erik.
“Good day, Miss. Barnes. Please, come in,” Mr. Richmond said.
When I entered his office, I noticed three other men were there as well. I didn’t recognize any of them. They looked solemn and very official. I wondered what was going on.
“These are Agents Mallon, Speckler and Briggs. They are from the FBI and from what I understand, they need to ask you a few questions,” Mr. Richmond sounded inconvenienced by this whole thing, and I’m sure he wished he was left out of it.
“We’d rather do this down at the headquarters, if you don’t mind,” Agent Briggs added, looking at me.
“And what is this all about?” I inquired. They made me nervous. The last thing I wanted to do was go anywhere with them.
“It’s regarding your boss, Erik Westbrook,” one of the other two men replied.
“And what do you think I know about Erik Westbrook?” I tried to sound nonchalant but my heart was beating so loud I was sure they could hear it.
“We have evidence that you and Mr. Westbrook are very close. Miss. Barnes, please don’t make this complicated,” Agent Briggs seemed to be playing the good cop. “We have direct orders to bring you with us, and we’d like it to be without any scenes or handcuffs.”
“I don’t have to go anywhere with you, because you haven’t told me what you are investigating myself or Erik for”.
“Ok, I guess we are going to do this the hard way,” the agent who had been quiet all this time, finally spoke. “Please turn around and put your hands behind your back.” The handcuffs rattled in his hands.
I was taken out of the building like a criminal and shoved into the back of their car. I suddenly realized that I had been shown zero identification. How did I know these were really FBI agents? I had the sick feeling that they weren’t taking me to FBI headquarters.
“You’re making a mistake you know,” I said stubbornly. “Erik Westbrook didn’t do anything wrong, and neither have I.”
“I thought you said you didn’t know anything about him. So how do you know if he’s guilty of something or not?” One of the agents laughed and the others joined him.
“You don’t understand, it’s all a set up!” I tried to convince them.
“We know. And you two did a great job of setting it all up,” Briggs replied.
“What?” I asked, shocked at the implication.
“Now, all we need is the information about his off-shore accounts, where you were storing all that cash from the faulty medications.”
I was stunned. They thought Erik and I were doing it all together! How did this happen?
“Your silence says it all,” one of them added. “But, don’t worry, you’ll talk. They all eventually do.”
Fatal Attraction Vol. 5
An Alpha Billionaire Romance
Adrianna
So, there I was, stuck in the car with three apparent FBI agents, whom I doubted were there to help their country, or me for that matter. Come to think of it, Erik was afraid something like this might happen.
It was either that they didn’t know yet who was actually behind this whole pharma fraud, or they did know, but didn’t really care, because they had been working for the wrong side since the beginning.
“Hey boss,” I heard one of the agents say to someone on the phone. “Yeah, we’ve got her. We’re on our way. Him? No sign yet. But I’m sure he’ll turn up eventually, once he finds out we’ve got his little damsel in distress right here,” he turned toward me, and winked viciously. “And we plan on putting her in a lot of distress,” he added in a voice that made my blood run cold.”
I didn’t like anything about what he just said.
“Sure thing, boss. We’ll be there very soon,” he hung up the phone.
The other agent spoke to him.
“Everything OK?”
“Yeah, we just need to drop the little lady off at his place and get back to work trying to find the other runaway.”
I tried to make sense of what they were saying. Who’s fuckin’ place was I being dropped off at? Who was this boss they were working for? I had serious doubts that it was anyone connected with the FBI. This all smelled fishy and I found myself wishing I could somehow let Erik know that I needed help so he could rescue me.
From hearing the men talk though, this sounded like what they wanted. They wanted Erik to know I was in danger so he would come out of hiding.
After about another half an hour of driving, the car stopped and I was dragged outside. At first, I was afraid that they had taken me to an abandoned place somewhere to get rid of me. But then I remembered that they needed me as bait.
“Briggs! Take her to the boss and take one of the other cars. We have instructions to meet at headquarters and take it from there,” the one who’d been on the phone with the “boss” said. Briggs dragged me away from the car we had just gotten out of as it sped away in a cloud of dust.
I had to admit, if I was to be left with any of the three, Briggs seemed to be the best choice. He appeared to have a cooler head and he hadn’t yet looked at me with malicious intent.
“Come on, let’s go.” He tugged on my arm, urging me to start walking towards what I realized now was a house, hidden by rows of thick bushes and trees.
There was a cool breeze, but it did nothing to soothe my fear or my anxiety. I had no idea what this place was or who I would meet here, in the middle of nowhere. And worst of all, no one who could help me knew I was here.
We came out of the trees to stand in front of a magnificent gated home. The house itself stood three stories tall and was surrounded by an immaculately kept garden that resembled the ones I saw in Paris at Versailles. A small fountain with a cherub holding a fish stood in the center of a circular drive. This was certainly not FBI headquarters.
Agent Briggs typed in a 10 digit code into a small, barely noticeable panel, which opened the large iron gate.
It was hard not to be impressed but my fear kept my awe in check.
As we walked up the drive, the front door of the house opened and a stunningly gorgeous man greeted us. He had dark, slicked back hair, and wore a black silk robe. In his right
hand, he held a glass of scotch. If you ask me, it was a little early on a Monday for scotch.
I figured out who he was immediately.
“Ah, Adrianna!” he addressed me with familiarity. “You have no idea how much I’ve been looking forward to meeting you. I regret that it had to be under such inconvenient circumstances, but what can we do?” he smiled a row of pearly whites.
Only then did he notice Agent Briggs.
“Great job, Briggs. You know what to do now,” he said dismissively.
Without another word, Briggs turned on his heel and left, closing the front door behind him. I was now all alone with this guy in the middle of nowhere.
I just stood there staring at him, waiting to see what would come next.
“Erik was right about you,” he said and I suddenly felt the need to shower. This guy was creepy weird. “You really are something.” The ice was clinking in his glass as he swallowed, eyeing me like a piece of meat. “A part of me wishes our roles were reversed and I met you first. But no, I wouldn’t really like that. Oh, you know what I mean!” and he fell into a fit of horrible laughter, as I continued to stare.
“I’m sure you’re wondering who I am and why you’re here,” he said.
“Only one of those two, actually.” I felt like I got a little bit of my strength back and I finally managed to speak.
“Oh?” he seemed surprised. “Clever girl. What is it that you think you know?” he asked mockingly.
“I know who you are,” I replied coldly. This seemed to amuse him.
“My dear, nobody knows who I am. Why do you think I live out here behind lock and key? He grinned at me. “But, by all means, try. Who am I?”
“You are Erik’s silent partner. The one responsible for the operations in South Africa. The one who almost made him board a plane that crashed. The one he considered a best friend from childhood. The one that’s dragging him and his company through the mud,” I spat out. If I was going to die, at least I wasn’t going to go quietly.
